Mom Saves A Starving Orphan Accused Of Witchcraft—But Wait Til You See Him 8 Weeks Later

You may have seen this picture circulating around the internet. It went viral because it showed a woman, Anja Ringgren Loven, giving a starving child some water. The child had been roaming the streets of Nigeria by itself without any family. Anja then wrapped up the child and brought him to the hospital.

After doing some research on the boy’s history Aja found out that his name is Hope and that his family had abandoned him after thinking that he was a witch. This, unfortunately, is not the only case where families abandon children and accusing them of witchcraft.

In late 2015 Anja came across this starving child in Nigeria.

After she rescued Hope she said this on her organization’s website: “I have seen much here in Nigeria over the last three years,” she wrote. “The images here show why I am fighting, why I sold everything I own.”

After the photo went viral donations started to roll in from all over the world.
